John 20:23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.
Mark 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
Forgiveness is to do a favor, show kindness unconditionally, give freely, grant forgiveness freely. The root word in the Greek language for forgiveness is “charis”, the same as the Greek word for grace.
Forgiveness is made possible through Jesus Christ, who has provided forgiveness of all sins to all who receive Him.
Forgiveness is an act in which one person releases another from an offense – refusing to enact the penalty due that person. Refusing to sustain consideration of the cause of the offense and refusing to allow the offense to affect the relationship. Such forgiveness releases one from the sense of all unresolved guilt, restores a clean conscience, and restores relationship.
Another benefit Of God’s grace of forgiveness is remembering sin no more. We, by His grace, can walk in the wonderful freedom of remembering our sin no more and the sins of others no more.
Forgiveness is a choice, make a decision today by faith. I will no longer hold an offense or sin against myself or another person or group. By the grace of our Lord Jesus, I will remember it no more.
Amen.
