Know the One You Have Believed

“For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him.”
— 2 Timothy 1:12

There was a time when I had a habit of saying, “That’s hard to believe.” One morning the Holy Spirit spoke these words to me: “There isn’t anything hard to believe when you know in whom you have believed.”

The Holy Spirit taught me one of the most important truths of my life.

Faith is more than standing on a promise. Faith is knowing the Lord Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Paul the apostle sums up the main pursuit of our lives in Philippians 3:10: to know the Lord Jesus. Everything else is rubbish compared to knowing Him.

The only thing that truly counts is knowing the Lord Jesus and our Father God. Our faith is centered in the Person behind the promises. We are fully persuaded that He who promised is able to perform what He has promised to us.

Our faith flows from knowing the Lord Jesus—in whom I believe. Be encouraged that by the grace of God He has made us righteous, that we may know Him and continue to know Him.

What can I do for others?

Ephesians 6:8 — knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord…

Have you ever had an occasion where you lacked joy or peace? Have you gone through a time when you lacked wisdom in the midst of a trial or problem? Maybe you are lacking sufficient finances to meet the needs of your family. Are there relationships in your life that you desire to see restored because strife has destroyed them?

The Word of God always has the answer. Ephesians 6:8 tells us that whatever good thing we do for another, or for others, we will receive the same from the Lord.

Back in 1981, I was working in real estate doing resales. Business was very, very poor. I inquired of the Lord, but there was no immediate answer. The next day, a situation arose where the new-home agent, Bob—who was also a brother in the Lord—was hospitalized with a serious illness. Our broker asked if anyone would man the new-home sales office in his absence, and I volunteered to fill in for Bob.

During the ten days I was there, I wrote three contracts. The Lord prompted me to give all of the commission from the first contract to Bob, and 50% of the commission from the other two contracts. This amounted to about $4,000 for Bob.

Shortly afterward, Bob returned, and I went back to the resale office. At a time when interest rates were around 18%, the Lord supplied nine contracts for me in four months. This was seven more than any other agent. The commissions totaled approximately $28,000, and I was promoted to sales manager of the office.

Whatever good you do for others, not only will you receive the same from the Lord, but abundantly more.

When you inquire of the Lord concerning any problem or need, ask, “Lord, what can I make happen for others?” Even if your situation seems impossible or hopeless, ask the Lord what you can do for someone else. You won’t be disappointed.

Praise the Lord!

Grace is not Works

Rom 4:4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

One cannot earn what has been gifted or inherited. If one tries to earn it, it is not a gift or an inheritance. Grace cannot be earned. Eph 2:8 tells us, “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Salvation cannot be earned by anything we do.

If one attempts to earn salvation or any part of it, grace is no longer in operation. All the benefits of salvation are by grace through faith. So, rest from the hard work of earning or deserving all the things the Father has freely given.

God gives us richly all things to enjoy

1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

The Word clearly shows us that trusting in God as our total source causes us to be at liberty and freedom where money and stuff is concerned. Jesus shared that man too often believes that their life consists of their possessions.

It is no wonder that the self storage business has become a multi-billion dollar industry in our country. However one cannot help but notice that as people labor to keep their possessions they are not enjoying them nor is anyone else enjoying them either.

If we come to a revelation and believe that money, possessions, and stuff is to serve others as well as ourselves, we can truly believe and receive from God richly all things to enjoy. As we recognize that our homes, cars, jobs, careers, education, and all other things are from God, we can richly enjoy them.

Thank you, Father God, you are my total source, and You give me all things to richly enjoy in Jesus Name, Amen.

Are you living in the eternal realm?

2 Cor 4:18 While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

As long as we are in the body, we are in the temporal realm, the realm of the senses. However, we are not to see this temporal realm as permanent, it is subject to change.

The will of God is not always done in this temporary realm, but it can be done in this temporal realm, because it is subject to change. Eph 1:3 declares that we are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places (the realm of the spirit.)

As we pray and believe that God’s will be done on earth (the temporal, subject to change realm) as it is in heaven (the eternal unchangeable spiritual realm.) You will see God’s will come to pass in your life.

The Word declares to pray daily for the Father’s will (His desires for us) to be done in our lives today. His desire is that we believe His Word so that it manifests in our lives daily. So, we believe what He says and He causes it to come to pass in our life.

Heavenly Father, I thank You, Your will be done in my life today, as it has been done in heaven. Amen.

Holding Fast the Word of Life

We are exhorted to hold fast the Word of Life. The Word of God is spirit and life to us. We live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. We live the abundant life in Christ Jesus according to our holding fast. We are to have and hold the Word. That is, we have continual possession with the idea of putting the Word of Life forth out of our mouths. As we speak the Word of Life, we are possessing it continually.

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

As we continually possess the Word of Life by holding fast our confession to the Father God and He sees to it that our confession of the Word of Life comes to pass in our life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

So whatever situation, circumstance or tribulation you are facing today, begin to hold fast to your confession of the Word of God so that the Word begins to work in and against that negative circumstance and it must line up with the will and the Word of God.

What is God’s Righteousness

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

Let’s take a look at the righteousness of God so that we do not fall into the same category as the children of Israel, who were ignorant of the righteousness of God.

The righteousness of God refers to His faithfulness and His truthfulness. It means that Father God is always consistent in His own nature and promises. Righteousness is who He is, and because He is righteous, everything He says and does is right. He does not look outside Himself to find what is right. There is no circumstance or anyone outside Father God who dictates to Him righteousness or the right thing to do.

We see in the Word that by one man’s offense, sin and death entered mankind. Therefore, the righteousness of God sent Jesus, the one man, to be the propitiation for our sins. In other words, by one man’s obedience, Jesus, we have been made righteous, put in right standing with God, and totally accepted in the Beloved by our Father God. Now, Father God can deal with us and treat us as if we have never sinned. Praise the Lord!

Abraham said, “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” The answer is yes, all the time. The Lord is faithful to His Word all the time. The Lord fulfills His Word all the time. The Lord’s nature is righteousness, and He never falls short of who He is. Please receive with me the truth of the Word of God: As Jesus is, so are we in this world. (from 1 John 4:17)

Prayer:
Father, I believe Your Word, and Your Word says that as Jesus is, so am I in this world. I believe that and I receive it. I thank You for the grace to walk in Your truth today. I believe I am just like Jesus in this world today.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

I give thanks for you!

give_thanksPhil 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you; 1 Cor 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God given to you by Jesus Christ; Col 1:3 We give thanks to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ praying always for you.

Our life consists mainly of our relationship with God our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, and our relationships with one another. If you desire your relationships to overflow with righteousness, peace, and joy, believe the Word of God, giving thanks to the Father for every relationship in your life.

Whenever you remember your marriage, children, parents, brothers, sisters, and every member of the body of Christ, enter into thanksgiving to the Father in the name of Jesus. Thank God for the grace He has given them through the Lord Jesus Christ.

As you give thanks, God’s grace appears in every relationship in your life. Thanksgiving is one of the highest expressions of faith in action. Grace always comes through faith!

To Be Found in Him

Phil 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

It is clear in this scripture that I can’t partake of all the benefits of being in the Lord Jesus if I am going to establish my own self-righteousness. This is our best effort to do all the works of the law. This is to set a standard of behavior for ourselves according to laws, such as the Ten Commandments. We then base our right-standing, our acceptance before God or God’s love for us on attaining the standard of behavior we have set for ourselves.

If we approach God in this manner, rather than according to the free gift of righteousness which Father God has provided for us because of His mercy and grace, then we will disqualify ourselves from any of the benefits received by being in Christ Jesus. (Gal 5:4)

We will have difficulty in receiving such things as forgiveness of sins, healing, or wisdom from God. We will have difficulty in walking in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

So, abandon every effort to be righteous in our own effort, to do good enough for God to accept you. Please receive by faith the gift of righteousness (right-standing with God) that Jesus has provided for us. Believe, think, know, and speak that God deals with you as if you have never sinned.

You are justified by faith.

By Jesus Stripes We were Healed

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.

It was the Roman custom to scourge a person before actually placing them on a cross. This was part of the Roman method of punishment and execution. Jesus was scourged with a whip that had hooks which tore the skin into open wounds. He received thirty-nine stripes, or open wounds, on His back. Every known disease today can be traced to thirty-nine basic categories of disease. Each stripe, each open, bleeding wound on His back set mankind free from every known disease.

However, it should be understood that everything the Lord endured from being spat upon, to carrying the cross, to the crown of thorns, to the scourging on His back, to the nails in His wrists and feet, to the spear in His side, and even the place where He died provided total redemption for mankind. Our Lord received it all in our place. He took what we, mankind, should have received. God met every need man could possibly have through the Lord Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

Through revelation knowledge, we receive what the Father through His grace has provided for us. Certainly, we have done nothing to earn this wonderful gift that the Father has freely given to us all.
