Good News!

Ps 103:10-12 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

It is such good news that our Father God out of His abundant mercy and grace does not deal with us according to our sin but rather deals with us according to who He is. He is love, mercy and grace. The Lord never forgets who He is, not even for a moment. Through Jesus, He has dealt with sin forever. He has forgiven all sin and set us apart from sin. He has removed all sin from us. Sin no longer has dominion over us. (Romans 6:14)

Sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are under grace and not under the law. We have been freed from every sin. Let’s focus on the fact that God does not deal with us according to sin. Because of this there is continuous mercy and forgiveness toward us.

Often, believers become entangled in unforgiveness and bitterness. This is poison to the believer. Unforgiveness and bitterness hinders our faith. It is like drinking poison to try to get back at someone for what they did to you. It’s foolish to believe that your unforgiveness will hurt someone else but not yourself.

However, God has given us grace and made us righteous. Now we can deal with people according to who we are and not according to what they said or what they did to us. We, the body of Christ, are love, mercy and forgiveness at all times. We can walk in forgiveness. We can cancel the debt. We do not have to allow unforgiveness to destroy the relationships God has brought into our lives to bless us.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, thank you, you have made me a new creation in Christ Jesus. Because I am a new creation, from this day forth, I deal with every relationship in my life according to who I am and not according to anyone’s mistakes, wrong doings or sin.

Amen.

The Parable of the Sower

Worship

Luke 8:15 – but the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

A good heart is the heart that consistently produces benefits for others. The noble heart involves our reconciled relationship with the Father. The Father through the Lord Jesus Christ has reconciled us to himself, creating in us a good heart.

However, if we allow the desire for other things, the cares and worries of this world, or the deceitfulness of riches to find place in our heart, the fruit of the word of God that produces blessing and benefits for others will be hindered.

The heart that produces blessings, fruit, and benefits for the kingdom of God and others is the heart that flourishes and prospers. The heart that intends to produce, wishes to produce, hopes to produce, or even dreams of producing is not good ground for the word of God to produce a hundredfold.

As Jesus is so are we in this world. Jesus has a good heart and is producing unlimited benefits for this world. As he is so are we. As we allow Father God to complete the good work that he has begun in us, our hearts continue to produce good for others and we continue to prosper in everything we do.

Father, we thank you for continuing to finish the good work within us that you have begun. I pray our lives bear fruit for the kingdom of God, the body of Christ, and others that remains to your glory, in Jesus name, amen.

Faith Working through Love

Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

After receiving Jesus as Lord of my life, the scripture, “faith works by love” came to my attention. I knew faith was very important since “we are saved by grace through faith.” However through study and different teachings at church, I concluded that one had to do their very best to walk in love in order for their faith to work. But it wasn’t working for me and it was hard, too hard. I read where Jesus said, “Come to me all you who are burdened and I will give you rest for my burden is easy and my load is light.” Something was wrong.

After asking my helper, the Holy Spirit, for guidance, He impressed upon me that the Father’s loves is not in proportion to how much I love or serve Him. The Father loves me because I am His creation, because I am His, because of who I am. His love is not based on how much I obey Him or what I have done for Him or how much time I am in His Word or pray or my church attendance. He loves me apart from anything I have accomplished or how well I perform. Yes, even apart from the strength of my faith.

The next morning, there was more, I knew that I knew that I am Father God’s beloved son in whom He is well pleased.  He directed me to 1 John 3:1, what manner of love God has bestowed on us that I am called a child of God. Wow! It became so real to me by the Spirit. There was more, He told me to say, “I am the one that you love, Lord!” After a few days, that truth just set me free. Faith began to work as never before in my life. Loving God became so easy. It was effortless. 1 John 4:19, Knowing that God loved me first, loving Him was a simple faith response. I realized faith works by knowing God’s love for us first, not by how much I am able to walk in love in my own effort.

One of my favorite verses of scripture will work for you as well. 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love..

That I May Know Him

Phil 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death

ResurrectionTo know Him, is the primary pursuit of our life. Paul realized that the only thing that counted was knowing the Lord Jesus and following after Him.

To know the power of His resurrection is to know the Holy Spirit. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

As we pursue knowing the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and His mission in our lives, all that we have received when we were raised from the dead with Jesus begins to manifest in and through our lives.  We begin to lay hold of that which Christ Jesus has bought and paid for us in His death, burial and resurrection.

Let us continually give thanks for our Lord Jesus.
Phil 3:12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
